Hu liena is a perfect match for tang San, should have killed off xiao Wu for good.

Mubai should have just become emperor and unite the whole Duoluo. This would solve many issues in DD2.

Yu xiaogang and bb dong should make up and have tons of babies, should solve many issues in dd.

All in all, since Qian renxue is soo obsessed with ts, he should just indulge her desires and took her as harem.

And in regards to Douluo Daluo, the sequel is a different story, different main character so yes and no, yes, it continues on the Soul Land story and no it doesnt exactly continue Tang San's story. The story is centered around Mubai and Zhuqing's descendant, Tang San's daughter becomes one of the lead characters and Tang San becomes a minor character, and he becomes kind of an antagonist against the main character, Youtube Addict can tell you all about it, since he read the novel, I only read the first few chapters then dropped it

tang san doesn't even come close to being an antagonist-like figure in SL2 imo.

I mean to be fair tang san watched over yu hao for long time and he was supposed to be his inheritor to his sea god's seat in the god realm and whatever tribulations he thrown at yu hao is more of a test like how tang san was tested by his predecessor or up until the god of emotions "rong nian bing" threw a spanner into his plans.

Also his daughter is head over heels for a boy and he wanna be sure that hes the fit to be her husband and his son-in-law.

Antagonist doesnt always mean that the character is evil, it also mean a character who actively opposes even when being supportive and is in conflict with the main character. It does not mean being a villain. An example of this is Shi Yi from Wanmei Shijie. Being an antagonist doesnt also mean being a villain.

As you have written, he was throwing trials and tribulations onto Yu Hao, and like any father that dotes on their daughter he is protective of his daughter, again like you said he wanted to make sure he is the right one, actively testing, playing the devil's advocate

No it will not, every soul land series(I called it DD) took part 1k years from one another. DD1 is the original and it's where the whole thing starts. The rest revolve around shi lai ke (Shrek) academy. DD2(soul land 2) is basically left off from DD but during the whole novel, they unfold more on what the original team did after the final. It involves new human enemies and of course better technology and the revitalization of tang sect hidden weapons, hence "unrivalled tang sect" is the the title. DD 2 deals more with descendants of the Shrek 7 like Ma Xiaotao, Huo Yuhao (dai yuhao), Tang Ya (blue silver grass soul but not a descendant of tang San , but I hope tjss could fill it in saying that it's from ts and huliena/Qian renxue fingers crossed) and yu xiaogang descendants forgot his name. All in all, a neglected and maltreated son of a maid who left his clan because his mother died on journey to become stronger because he did not inherit the dai family martial soul. Ran into his biggest plot armor (mellinium soul ring as his first soul ring). Then ran into Shrek students and joins Shrek academy. @dasequo here's the review of dd2 in case you're interested.

Yes, the outrageous ending pretty much sums up the character change in TS. Honestly, I don’t quite remember the storyline anymore. It’s actually not so much about TS, after all he really plays a very minor role but I just can’t stand whiny MCs who whinges about his sad sad life. Compared to Yuhao in DD2 who often plays the victim card, I prefer thick-skinned MCs like Shi Hao who would just suck it up and won’t miss the opportunity to get under someone’s skin.

TJSS's novel endings like "most" cultivation novelists always seem to fall flat, it is like they cannot bear to end the novel or even end the novel it a good way. Either the novels feels incomplete, has loose ends that readers still wonders about or readers feel the next novel will continue on but it doesnt.

The reason I said the best is because it is the most complete out of all the abrupt ending of all DD series. Yuhao pretty much completed his last challenge and became a god.defeated di tian, but just when he was about to wrap everything up and deal with all the loose ends, ts disrupt his plans which makes him drops everything and ascend which in return, causes more problems for dd3 and 4.

Yes, finally we have a serious and grand episode that does not revolve around XW trying to look cute or TS getting ridiculously bashed up.

Previously I was really looking forward to seeing the epic moment when TS drops his rings in front of everyone at Jialing Pass but this surprise is gone. Let’s hope they at least will let him strut his stuffs and not making him look like a fool with XW rushing to the rescue every time. But I have to say, the preview looks promising. I love the scene where Shreks ride to war side by side.
